For 2012 we are planning a new holiday visiting areas in western Provence. This holiday will give you the chance to explore three distinctively different parts of the region. You will visit the pretty villages of the Alpilles mountains and olive groves, the charming market town of St. Remy and the nearby medieval fortress town of Les Baux. Two nights will be spent near Sainte Maries de la Mer in the southern Camargue including visits to the fascinating Camargue Museum which explains the history of the area and way of life in this unique area, and the mysterious walled city of Aigues Mortes in the salt marshes.
You will also have the opportunity to explore the interesting Roman city of Nimes and the stunning aqueduct of the Pont du Gard as well as the delightful nearby town of Uzes in the Gard. And to complete the picture of provencal flavours the holiday will of course include recommendations for dining at some of the best restaurants in the area. |
