This area is just perfect for exploring on foot with hundreds of way marked footpaths for gentle strolls and of course the longer hiking trails. The scenery of this part of Provence really is amazingly varied - from pine and oak forests to lavender fields and vineyards, from green rolling hills to wild limestone cliffs.
If you plan to walk during your holiday, we recommend Spring, early summer and autumn as the best times to visit. The weather is not too hot, the skies are clearer affording the best vistas and the countryside is greener. Winter walking too is a great option. When all is grey at home, bring your winter woolies and enjoy a short break under the clear blue skies. Stay in a cosy hotel or cottage and stroll the hills and valleys by day. |
