Cooking & Walking in the Luberon

Working in collaboration with Chef Patrick Payet we are very please to be able to offer this very special holiday.  Based in the heart of the Parc Naturel du Luberon, Patrick will be your host, cooking teacher and guide for the week as you join your fellow guests in a small group of between 4 and 8 people.

Highlights of the holiday include wine tastings, a cheese tasting, three great walks in the Luberon with walking guides and a visit to the Papal Palace in Avignon.  On the visits to local markets with Patrick you'll feel like a real provencal as you make your selection from the gorgeous choice of fruits, vegetables and cheeses on the laden market stalls. The four relaxed and fun hands-on cooking classes led by Patrick take place in his kitchen in the afternoons and are followed by an aperitif and dinner with wine in the company of your fellow guests. There is also plenty of free time to explore on your own or just relax and enjoy the provencal lifestyle.

Patrick and his team will accompany you during your holiday acting as guides and offering great

suggestions for when you want to go off on your own. This holiday offers not only the opportunity to learn to cook some great provencal dishes but also the chance to experience the culture of the area in the company of a true provencal.

All the arrangements start from your arrival point in Provence.  In order to make the most of your free time this is a self drive holiday.  If you prefer not to drive we can arrange transfers from your arrival point together with transportation during the week for an additional charge.

    The Cooking Experience

Your four cooking classes are held in Chef Patrick's kitchen. Patrick graduated from the school of Roger Vergé and has run his own restaurant for over 20 years.  During the week  Patrick will initiate you into the arts of Provencal cuisine in his relaxed and fun cooking classes.  With a pre-planned programme of recipes he will guide and inspire you in your discovery of the great dishes of the region and accompany you on the wine and cheese tastings - some of the real

pleasures of Provence.  The classes are part demonstration and part hands-on and you will even get your own recipe book to take away and impress your friends with your culinary skills at home.

The cooking classes are held in the late afternoon and include a relaxing pre-dinner aperitif and dinner accompanied by Patrick in the evening.
